Systems Tools Internship
Hardware/ Software Engineering Intern
As an intern at Apple in the Vision Products Group, I have the honor of working on projects that have a substantial impact. My role was a System Tools Intern where I developed software tools aimed at testing hardware. Throughout my time at Apple, I have learned so much and improved my skills in ways I could never imagine. I am so grateful for this opportunity and glad I achieved my dream of working at Apple.
Point Clouds
During my internship at Apple, I had the opportunity to work on advanced point cloud processing to support precision in data collection and system integration. My role centered on developing and refining algorithms for noise reduction and object segmentation. Through the use of Python, C++, and Open3D, I designed a noise removal algorithm that reduced point counts by 80%, streamlining data files and significantly boosting processing efficiency. Additionally, I implemented clustering algorithms, including DBSCAN and K-D Tree, to separate point clouds into distinct object clusters. This work enhanced data clarity and established a robust foundation for future development in control systems integration.
These projects taught me not only the technical intricacies of point cloud data processing but also the importance of optimizing data handling to support scalability and integration across complex systems.
Control Systems
At Apple, I worked on automating control systems to ensure high precision and reliability in data collection. My primary focus was to develop APIs that streamlined system controls, making integration with future applications seamless. By building these automation frameworks, I enhanced the accuracy and consistency of data flow, reducing manual interventions and enabling easier scalability across projects.
This experience strengthened my skills in designing adaptable systems while emphasizing the importance of reliable data handling in high-stakes environments. It was incredibly rewarding to contribute to Apple's engineering efficiency through automation, setting a foundation for continued innovation in control systems.
